I am a problem solver and a dreamer. I believe experience is the most important aspect of design. I am a story teller. I practice proper grammar and always Save For Web. I crop, I kern, and I code—a little. (I coded this site, anyway.) When presented with a design problem, my first instinct is to untangle the knot and find the most direct route from vision to execution. Sometimes you do have to take the scenic route, though, and I'm not afraid to take my time to get it right. I'm hands-on, and can carry a project all the way from brainstorm to its emergence into the Real World.
I bake, I knit, I watch a ludicrous number of Bollywood films, and I read. A lot. I am constantly looking for opportunities to educate myself, either by learning a new skill or digesting Wikipedia articles on the Heroic Age of Antarctic Exploration. I collect trivia the way my sister collects shot glasses (which is to say, in great number and from wherever one can find them).
Drop me a line if you're interested in learning more, or just want to swap book recommendations.
